Solvang is the sweetest little Danish village in Santa Ynez Valley, about 2 and a half hours north of Los Angeles. Windmills, flowers, tree-lined streets, darling boutiques and wine tasting galore. What’s not to love? Dex and I decided to spend a beautiful sunny day walking around the village. It’s the perfect escape for even a day trip. Keep scrolling for all the sights!
We had brunch at Succulent Cafe, in downtown area of Solvang. It was the cutest place to eat with a beautiful succulent filled patio. Their food was delish! Dex and I enjoyed our meal.
This plant covered building is Ramen Kotori. I am so in love with this plant situation and I would have loved to try their ramen but it was closed at the time we visited. These pictures will have to do!
OSTRICHLAND USA
One of my favorite places we visited is OstrichLand USA. It’s only a 5 minute drive from downtown, but it felt like we went to Africa. If you’ve never seen an ostrich up close in real life, prepare yourself! They are amazing, hilarious and terrifying all at once. You have the option to feed them, which was both exciting and frightening – they are super big and strong! They peck at the food dish incredibly hard, I was afraid they were going to miss the dish and peck my hand by accident. It was a fun experience! There are also emus in OstrichLand and they looked like a baby version of an ostrich.
We had the sweetest day walking around Solvang. If you’re looking for a Danish escape, Solvang is the place to go!
